Risk information
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This page expands on the warning shown on the dashboard. The wording follows Circular 1/2022 of the Spanish securities regulator (CNMV), which governs advertising of crypto-assets presented as investment products. We keep it on the English version too: the risks do not change with the language.
1. What "unregulated" means
Crypto-assets are not bank deposits or traditional financial instruments. Therefore:
- They are not covered by any deposit guarantee or investor compensation scheme. If the platform holding them fails or disappears, no public mechanism returns your money.
- No supervisor approves the product or stands behind it.
- The European MiCA framework regulates service providers. It does not guarantee the value or the solvency of any particular crypto-asset.
2. The main risks
- Total loss
- A realistic outcome, not a remote edge case. You may lose everything you put in.
- Volatility
- Prices can move sharply within hours, with no identifiable cause and nothing to limit the fall.
- Liquidity
- There may be no buyer when you want to sell, or only far below the quoted price. This hits small-cap assets and low-volume networks hardest.
- Technology
- Smart contract bugs, network faults, attacks and outages can cause irreversible losses. An on-chain transfer cannot be undone.
- Custody
- Losing your private key or recovery phrase means losing the funds permanently. There is no support desk that can restore them.
- Fraud
- The sector carries a high concentration of scams: fake platforms, impersonation, and guaranteed returns. Nobody serious guarantees returns.
- Tax
- Crypto transactions have tax consequences in most jurisdictions, including swaps between crypto-assets, which are usually taxable even when nothing is converted to fiat. Ask a tax adviser in your country.
3. What this dashboard is, and is not
What it is: an informational tool publishing a public, verifiable figure — the SHIB balance held at addresses with no known private key, read directly from the Ethereum blockchain — together with how it has changed over time. Every figure can be checked independently in a block explorer; we publish the exact addresses we add up precisely so that you can.
What it is not: this dashboard is not financial advice, does not recommend buying, selling or holding anything, does not issue price targets or forecasts, and does not present burn activity as a signal of future price movement. The number of tokens taken out of circulation is a fact about supply, not a prediction about price.
4. Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you sign up through them, this project earns a
commission from the destination platform. It does not change what you pay and it
does not influence what we publish. These links are always marked as such and carry the
rel="sponsored" attribute. Appearing here is not an endorsement: before signing up
anywhere, check for yourself that the platform is registered or authorised in your jurisdiction
and read its terms.
5. Before you invest
- Only use money you can afford to lose entirely.
- Check that the platform is registered or authorised where you live — under MiCA in the EU.
- Be suspicious of guaranteed returns, of urgency, and of anyone pressuring you.
The people behind this site are not financial or tax advisers. This page is informational and does not replace professional advice.
